Teams short a player

Team Spare - The Phantom

1. Every team has an additional player added to their Team Roster called 'Team Spare'.
2. When only 4 players are present, 'Team Spare' is written into one of the 5 Match Roster positions.
3. The 4 players that are present rotate through and play the 5 games of the missing player.
4. The order of the rotation doesn't matter but the player present with the second lowest average plays the 2nd 'additional' game.
5. The Team Handicap is re-computed for each round using the 'average' of each player who is playing in the round.
6. The results of each Game played for the missing player are recorded against the phantom 'Team Spare'.
7. Although statistics will result for the 'Team Spare', including an 'Average', that average is never used for Team Handicap purposes. See #5.
8. The team must be truly short. If 5 players are present, then they must play and use of the phantom 'Team Spare' is not allowed.
9. If you only have 3 players available, you can use the phantom 'Team Spare' as your 4th player, but your 5th will all be forfeited games.
10. Use of the phantom 'Team Spare' is generally allowed at any time in the League Schedule and in the Playoffs.
